Should I request all of my existing employees who were paid before 2020 to complete new W-4?

Though it's not mandatory, you may request them and you should explain that:

• it's not mandatory
• even if they fail to complete the new form, withholding will continue based on the form previously submitted.

Please note that for employees claim exemptions from withholding for this year should complete the new form.
